“Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours; yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion looks out on the world, yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good, and yours are the hands with which he is to bless us now.” Teresa of Avila (1515–1582)
The many local and global ministries reached through the ministries of Saint Andrew’s are representative of our response to God’s instruction in Micah 6:8 to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.”
With compassion we reach out to our community and world in ways that seek to meet basic material and spiritual needs of God’s people, especially those struggling to make it in a world where material value takes precedence over human value. We embrace the opportunity to share the abundant blessings of our congregation in ways that touch the lives of those in need and show Christ’s love through us for his people.
Global Outreach

-
Intentional interaction between the members of Saint Andrew’s and the global community to meet the needs of our global neighbors.
-
We supported our missionaries in Tanzania, Marv Kananen and Jean Wahlstrom in their ministry to the MaaSae Girl’s Lutheran Secondary School. They concluded their twelve years of service there in January 2010.
-
Lutheran World Relief is supported by quilts made and distributed by our Dorcas Circle, with school supply packets collected by our Sunday school children, and health kits assembled by our Health and Wholeness Ministry
-
Through the sale and use of Equal Exchange Fairly Traded Coffee, we help the coffee and cocoa bean farmers in impoverished countries receive more money for their crops by eliminating the middle man’s cut.
-
In 2007, the Saint Andrew's youth group went to Guatemala to serve the poor by contructing stoves. In 2008, the youth traveled to West Virginia to help families with home repairs/maintenance and provide children there with daily games and activities. In summer 2010, the youth will reach out to serve the Lummi Tribe of Native Americans near Bellingham, WA.
Read about the Tanzania Mission Team 2009: In July 2009, a team of eight from Saint Andrew's traveled to Tanzania. They served at the MaaSae Girls Lutheran Secondary School, and visited Selelah Lutheran Church and Selian Lutheran Hospital's Plaster House. The congregation provided financial support for the school, church, and hospital.
