Share the Vision! Be the Life!

Mission and Ministry Campaign

Our Fall 2010 stewardship theme was "Share the Vision! Be the Life! Mission and Ministry Campaign". God has blessed us on this two-fold reach for growth in the mission and ministry we share at Saint Andrew's. Our campaign included two pledges:

  • A one-year commitment to the 2011 Current Fund, providing operating funds for programs and ministry
  • A three-year commitment above and beyond our regular offerings to:
    1) grow our outreach and ministries;
    2) invest in some capital improvements to our facilities to make them both inviting and safe; and
    3) retire our debt

A team of dedicated volunteers led various "branches" of this campaign. Lynn Mack was our campaign chair, and we hired Marc Rieke, Senior Consultant for the Enrichment Group, to guide us.

Communications
Information and details about the campaign was communicated through mailings, campaign newsletters, the VOICE newsletter, and Sunday bulletins.

Celebration Sunday!
Our campaign culminated on Celebration Sunday, January 30, 2011, as we celebrated the commitments received and the Mission and Ministry goals that can be accomplished. We give thanks for how we as a congregation have supported the campiagn through all of our gifts of time, talent, and treasures. Give thanks and praise to God!
     I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart;
          I will tell of all your wonders.
     I will be glad and rejoice in you;
          I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
  Psalm 9:1-2 (NIV)

Bible Study
This campaign was about spiritual growth. Three weeks of Bible Study gave us focus in God's Word and how it speaks to us. The Bible Study texts are below. Study, share, learn ... Share the Vision! Be the Life!

Zacchaeus, Luke 19:1-10
The Widow's Offering, Luke 21:1-4
The Rich Young Man, Mark 10:17-25
The Cost of Discipleship, Luke 14:28-33
The Parable of the Rich Fool, Luke 12:13-21
The Shrewd Money Manager, Luke 16:1-13

Prayer Vigil
Another way we grew spiritually during our campaign was at our Prayer Vigil on November 5 - 6, 2010. Many spent an hour of quiet time in silent prayer as a time of personal spiritual growth as we shared our thanks and our concerns with God, and also a time of community growth as we prayed for the concerns of others.
The importance of prayer in our lives is never ending. Continue to ask God's guidance and give thanks for His blessings on our campaign.

All-Church Banquet
On December 3, 2010, we enjoyed an evening of celebration of our life together! Thank you to our Banquet Committee and everyone who helped create this special evening.
